Top Things To Do In New Orleans This Summer

April 28 2015 | News

I’m not going to lie to you. Summer is almost here. It’s not to the point that you would break a sweat just walking to the car, but you know that weather isn’t far away.

  1. Enjoy the smaller crowds and shorter lines. The most popular times to visit New Orleans, Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest are over and the it becomes a lot easier to move around the city.
  2. Visit the World War II Museum. Its education and air conditioned. Plus, they feature a 4D movie, Beyond All Boundaries, that includes snow.
  3. Dive into the swimming pool in our courtyard. It’s the perfect place to be late in the afternoon after a day of sight seeing around New Orleans.
  4. Take the kids to the zoo. Audubon Zoo now features kid-friendly splash zones to enjoy in between venturing through the wild and exotic animal exhibitions.
  5. Drink an iced café au lait with your beignet. I don’t think I need to say anything more. If you’ve never had a beignet, you’ll understand why after you try one.
  6. Visit the aquarium. The Aquarium of the Americas is air conditioned and being around all that water is just refreshing. You might even learn something along the way.
  7. Have a snowball! A snowball is a uniquely New Orleans creation, kind of like snowcone that you can find in other parts of the country, but better!
