I’m not going to lie to you. Summer is almost here. It’s not to the point that you would break a sweat just walking to the car, but you know that weather isn’t far away.
- Enjoy the smaller crowds and shorter lines. The most popular times to visit New Orleans, Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest are over and the it becomes a lot easier to move around the city.
- Visit the World War II Museum. Its education and air conditioned. Plus, they feature a 4D movie, Beyond All Boundaries, that includes snow.
- Dive into the swimming pool in our courtyard. It’s the perfect place to be late in the afternoon after a day of sight seeing around New Orleans.
- Take the kids to the zoo. Audubon Zoo now features kid-friendly splash zones to enjoy in between venturing through the wild and exotic animal exhibitions.
- Drink an iced café au lait with your beignet. I don’t think I need to say anything more. If you’ve never had a beignet, you’ll understand why after you try one.
- Visit the aquarium. The Aquarium of the Americas is air conditioned and being around all that water is just refreshing. You might even learn something along the way.
- Have a snowball! A snowball is a uniquely New Orleans creation, kind of like snowcone that you can find in other parts of the country, but better!
