Red Dress - Dirty Linen Night Hotels
New Orleans has many, many unique events, few are as unique as the upcoming Red Dress Run, the Dirty Linen Night and their accompanying dress codes. It’s not too late to join in on the fun. The Red Dress Run takes registrations right up until the race/party starts, Dirty Linen Night is free and open to the public and Hotel St. Marie, as well as our sister hotels that are part of the French Quarter Collection have a limited number of rooms available for this fun and festive weekend in New Orleans!
Red Dress Run
On the morning of Aug 10, both women and men put on their finest red dresses for a run through the French Quarter and Marigny. It’s as much a run as it is a party with the beer flowing at 9:30 am and the race starting at 11. Don’t worry you don’t have to be an athlete, participants are encouraged to go at their own place, whether it’s run, walk or stumble. There will be live music from Cowboy Mouth and Dash Rip Rock.
Dirty Linen Night
Later that day, the dresses are put away and replaced with dirty linen attire. Dirty Linen Night started as a parody of White Linen Night (an event the previous weekend), but turned into it’s a must see event in its own right. Dirty Linen Night showcases antique shops, art galleries and other independently owned shops along Royal Street in the French Quarter. Select businesses will be serving up the appropriate dirty martinis and dirty rice to set the mood.
