Kick Off Mardi Gras with King Cake Festival

king cakeIn New Orleans, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate, and now we have a new one. The second annual King Cake Festival is just around the corner, Sunday, January 25.  Centered around the world-famous Mardi Gras, the festival features dozens of the city’s best bakeries competing for bragging rights for “Best King Cake.”

The festival, which is free and open to the public, is from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Champion Square on LaSalle Street—near the Superdome. For VIP access included open bar and unlimited food, tickets are just $50.  

Live musical performances are expected by Old Sole, Dr. Jazz, Cowboy Mouth, and more!

The family-friendly event also features a kid’s area. Wristbands are $10 a piece and include drinks, games, a photo booth, arts and crafts, and more!

The King Cake Festival also benefits children and babies at Ochsner.
