Halloween with Hotel St. Marie

October 21 2014 | News

Halloween is almost here! Whether you’re planning a family affair or a fun time on the town, New Orleans is the place.

Enjoy a little family fun with the French Quartour Kids Halloween History Tour.  The tour tackles the history behind Halloween. Kids will learn the meaning behind All Saints Day and why Creoles so festively decorated the graves of loved ones. The tour begins October 1 and runs through Halloween.

Boo at the Zoo is another fun family affair! The event, for children up to 12, features trick-or-treat houses, games with prizes, haunted houses, a ghost train, and more! The games and treats are free with admission to the Audubon Zoo (concessions not included.)

It wouldn’t be a celebration in the Big Easy without a parade! Krewe of Boo, New Orleans official Halloween parade, will roll through the streets of the French Quarter Thursday, October 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The spooktacular event features frightening floats full of fun throws. After the parade, there’s a party with live music and drinks at Mardi Gras World (costumes are required for the party!)

And of course, the annual Voodoo Music Experience will be held October 31- November 2 for weekend of music mania. Featuring famous headliners and local favorites, this festival is one of New Orleans largest annual celebrations.

For an unforgettable Halloween experience in the French Quarter than in an authentic New Orleans boutique hotel?  Hotel St. Marie is surrounded by 18th century New Orleans architecture and is conveniently situated a short half a block from the world famous Bourbon Street.
