Festival Season In New Orleans

April 13 2015 | News

Festival season is in full swing here in New Orleans. Just about every weekend there’s a different fest filled with good food, live music and a whole lot more.

New Orleans Festivals

There are festivals that celebrate food. There are festivals based on music. There are festivals just to have festivals. We love our festivals here, especially when the weather is perfect like it has been. It’s been in the mid-seventies, humidity free and the skies have been clear, which is making for perfect festival weather.

French Quarter Festival

It’s kind of late notice, but one of our favorite fests is coming up this weekend. It’s the French Quarter Festival and features more than eight hundred local musicians performing on stages set up throughout the Quarter. You can almost step out the door at any of the French Quarter Collection of Hotels and be in the middle of the action.

If you’re not headed down this year, it’s not too early to start planning your trip down for next year.

Jazz And Heritage Festival

Jazz Fest is coming up soon. It’s not as close as steps away like the French Quarter Fest, but Jazz Fest is just a short bus, cab or streetcar ride away from the French Quarter and well worth the trip. Jazz Fest is a must do! It features talented local musicians as well headliners that span the spectrum like B.B. King to The Black Keys and just about every genre in between.

I’ve heard that some of our hotels do have a few rooms still available, so check now to make your reservations.

New Orleans Wine and Food Experience

Enjoy great food, world class wine while helping raise money for local non-profit organizations in New Orleans. There are seminars, tastings, and whole lot more. You have to go to the Grand Tastings events, which brings together 175 wineries and 75 chefs Friday night or Saturday afternoon. Whether you’re a foodie or a wine aficionado, you’re going to love this weekend.

New Orleans Vieux To Do

Three festivals in one, the Vieux To Do combines the Creole Tomato Festival, New Orleans Seafood Festival and Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival into one weekend, June 8-9 in the French Quarter.  Come for food, there’s lots of tomato based eats as well as seafood dishes to try. Stay for the music and discover Cajun and Zydeco music.

That’s just a few of the festivals going on in the next few months. No matter what weekend you come, it’s safe to say that there will be something exciting happening in or near the French Quarter. Plus, when you stay with one of our member hotels, you can be sure that you'll be staying close to all of the action, but still in intimate, comfortable settings so that you'll get a good night's rest.
