Dog Days of August
The dog days of August have arrived, and you know what that means? There's lots to get your tail wagging in New Orleans! Here's what you have to look forward to:
This festival is the perfect way to kick off August. Celebrating the life and music of New Orleans native, Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong, this French Quarter festival is full of everything we love about New Orleans, music, culture, food and fun! Join us August 2-4.
White Linen Night & Dirty Linen Night
You don't have to be an art aficionado to enjoy White Linen Night on August 3rd & Dirty Linen Night on August 10th, but it does help! These two unique block parties celebrate the art of Julia Street in the New Orleans Arts District as well as the art of Royal Street in the French Quarter. Stroll in and out of galleries and enjoy live music and promotions. Both events are free.
Red Dress Run
Don't be alarmed if you see hundreds of people running through the French Quarter in red dresses on August 10th...It just means it is time for the New Orleans Red Dress Run! Men and women don red dresses, ranging from beautiful ball gowns to fun tutus and celebrate all day in the French Quarter. And the best thing about it is that proceeds from the Red Dress Run benefit local charities! Have you gotten your red dress yet?
Running of the Bulls
Because of Hurricane Barry, the storm that never really came to New Orleans, the Running of the Bulls was bumped to August 23-25 this year. Come experience our version of Spain's Encierro de Pamploma which features the Big Easy Rollergirls with plastic bats instead of bulls with horns!
Saints Preseason Games
Everyone knows that New Orleans bleeds black and gold. On Friday, August 9th, the Saints will take on the Minnesota Vikings and on Thursday, August 29, the Who Dats will take on the Miami Dolphins in two preseason games in New Orleans. The fun begins in Champion Square. See you there!
With all of these exciting August events, you’ll want to book your room now!
