Satchmo SummerFest hotel rooms available now

July 23 2013 | News

Satchmo SummerFestOne of the favorite music festivals for New Orleans locals is the annual Satchmo SummerFest, a weekend of jazz and other distinctly New Orleans music filling the French Quarter.

This year’s festival is coming up soon, August 1-4, but the good news is that you still have time to make your reservation at Maision Dupuy or any of the other French Collection Hotels.

The festival honors New Orleans jazz legend, the late, great Louis Armstrong. This year’s performers include a number of world class jazz and brass bands, living legends like Charmaine Neville and Ellis Marsalis, as well as local favorites like Kermit Ruffins and Jeremy Davenport.

If you love jazz, or just good music in general, you don’t want to miss this festival. This year, as well as every year, it’s free and open to the public.

If you’re a foodie, you don’t want to miss Red Bean Alley, there will be exclusive festival food from a number of premier New Orleans restaurants, as well as other delicious food vendors. Keep an eye out for the crawfish bread, fried okra and make sure to save room for a snoball.

If you’re considering coming to Satchmo Summerfest, make your hotel reservations now. I can’t promise that rooms will stay available for long for this popular weekend.
