It's Christmas in New Orleans, and the decorations show it. Walk down almost any street and you're sure to see mistletoe hanging off balconies and lights hanging in trees. Walking or driving down the streets of New Orleans to look at all the holiday decor is fun, but really, it's the city's visitors who have it best.
During the holiday season, many of the hotels in the area beautifully decorate their lobbies and common areas. Le Richelieu is one of those hotels.
While some hotels just have decorations on the interior, Le Richelieu- starts on the outside. Here’s a photo of the main doorway:
Once you step inside, check out the beautiful decorations around the front desk. The Christmas tree, wreath, ribbon and poinsettias give the whole place a very festive feel:
On the way to drop off your luggage in your room, you'll walk underneath the deocorations by the elevators:
And once you’ve settled in, don’t forget to visit the hotel bar. We already love this place and its celebrity-filled walls. Quite a few big names have sat on those bar stools.
These decorations (and more that we don’t have space to show) will be up through New Year’s. If you don’t already have New Year’s Eve plans, New Orleans has a great celebration – the Crescent City Countdown. There will be live music, fireworks, a fleur di les drop, and just a whole lot of celebrating happening throughout the French Quarter.
Le Richelieu is a great, and beautiful place to stay. There are still a couple of rooms available to book for the holiday festivities, so give them a call at 504-529-2492 or check out their rooms online if you decide you want to plan a trip.
The dedicated and friendly staff of Hotel St. Marie will ensure you experience all of the best of New Orleans' many sights, sounds, and tastes.
The French Market Inn, New Orleans, La., is tucked away on the banks of the Mississippi River in the center of the French Quarter.
Nestled in the heart of the French Quarter, the Maison Dupuy is close to everything that makes New Orleans special - Dixieland jazz, world-renowned restaurants, and Bourbon Street.
From its very inception, Le Richelieu has captured the flavor and essence of New Orleans. Casual elegance is complemented by the charm of this historic city.
